New Things

I have just recently bought my belle de Jour planner and I love it. It’s very interactive unlike other planners out there. There’s one page of this planner that is allotted for things that you want to do for the year. And I I was thinking of filling this out with all the things I can think of doing. Like purchasing mountain hardwear stuff for a great outdoor adventure, traveling to places I have not been..etc. I’m hoping to see at the end of the year all the new experiences and fun things that I did for the year. We’re approaching the new year and I’m excited to used my planner.

Kids are really different now. They would prefer receiving gifts like iPad and ipad accessories rather than simple toys, haha! Well, maybe because unlike laptop toys, iPad is more engaging and interactive. Maybe that’s the reason why children as young as five years old ask for it. And some parents are okay about giving this to their kids. I personally won’t deprive my kids with this gadget if it’s going to be helpful to them. We just need t properly guide them in using this expensive “toys”.

Having a fireplace is a necessity in the homes of almost all western families especially those living in places where there’s winter and snow. And this is the time of the year when fire places are being cleaned and spruce up for the cold season. Diabetes is a costly and delicate disease. I’ve known a number of people who have this including my husband’s step mother. Recently, I’ve heard that she has not been taking any medicines anymore cause she’s gone tired of medicines. My sister in law said that, she’s now gaining a lot of weight and becoming pale because she don’t go out and as if pampering the illness, doesn’t move or work around the house. We’re hoping that she will change her attitude toward her conditions and do things that will help her get well. She has become stiff and so determined not to take any supplements anymore even those herbal ones. Si, we're getting worried. Although she has not taken Actos, we’re still hoping that she will experience fewer side effects. My friend accompany me to a car shop one day because I honestly don’t know anything about car accessories. There are just too many things to know about cars, yay! When we entered the shop he saw some polaris rzr accessories and it caught his attention for a while. While I went straight to KIA accessories. I didn’t want to show him I am that ignorant with car accessories but he knows me. So instead of inspecting those eye candies, he helped me to get the things I need. Good thing he was with me, I could have bought unnecessary things and spends too much. I'm thankful to have a friend who know a lot about cars, I don't have to pay an expert :)

I’ve visited three supermarkets last week and one thing I noticed that’s common to all of them are the displays of Christmas Fruit Baskets on the shelves. Maybe this is one way to remind shoppers that Christmas is coming and it’s time to save for gifts. And grocery goodies and fruit baskets are one of the easiest choices. Getting Rid of Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are the common problems of women who already gave birth and I am not spared. Giving birth to two kids gave me my fare share of these annoying stretch marks. During my first pregnancy they are not that visible and I thought I can manage to get rid of them but before it happen I got pregnant with my second child. Now, getting rid of stretch marks is more challenging for me.

They say that stretch marks are not harmful, not unless you are a person who thought stretch marks as ugly lines in your skin. Some doesn’t even bother to have them treated because honestly, it’s a skin condition that doesn’t need to undergo medical treatments because it heals on its own, and I hope it so. They say that stretch marks fade over time but of course with the help of moisturizing creams, lotions or body oils to help the skin moisturized and supple all the time. The problem with my first pregnancy is that I didn’t care about stretch marks because I was pre occupied with preparing for the baby’s birth. I regretted it. So, when I was pregnant with my second I used a brand of body butter to help me minimized the appearance of stretch marks and it did wonders. Somehow, I only had a few additions to the old marks in my belly. Now I use a brand of sunflower oil to help me minimized the rest of the marks. The brand claims that it can be use to stretch marks. I am also reading a post on trilastin reviews and will see if this product will also help me. Trilastin claims that it’s the most effective and successful stretch mark removal cream in the market. Hopefully, with a religious application of these products, my stretch marks will be forever gone.

It's been ages since I posted something about my faith here. It's because I have been in my down times and I have been neglecting what I am supposed to be. It's just recently when I was tasked to facilitate our small group (cell group) in church that I realized I was not being what I have to be as a Christian. I know I have been living a life that is boring and dry. So I started reading my bible and reading books that will encourage me and restore the joy of serving and living for God.

Last Sunday, I was touched by the message of our guest speaker, it's about giving back our lives to God and allowing Him to use us. I had this feeling of guilt that I have not prayed that prayer for so long now. And I've decided, I will not live a life of mediocrity, I will stand and desire to be used by God..to be a salt and a light of the world.

Plus Size to Size 8

My sister and I are planning to have a photo shoot somewhere in Quezon City this week. Actually this is not only to have nice pictures of our selves but we will also feature some of my items that I wanted to sell online. These are pre-loved items that I bought on various shops that I visited selling imported and unique pieces of clothing. But while I’ll be wearing these items, my sister is on the lookout for affordable plus size clothing that she can wear for the photo shoot. She is not actually that big but some of the plus size womens clothing looks good on her. They somehow give her a sexy silhouette when worn properly. So before our planned photo shoot, I still have to accompany her to look for an affordable womens plus size tops. I told her that I’m hoping also that someday we won’t need to take the effort f finding that size of clothes for her because I can just let her use some of my cute clothes since we will be of the same size, LOL!

Kidding aside, I really wanted my sister to lose weight. I am even inviting her to play badminton with me but since her schedule of work is shifting, she cannot find time. But I am not giving up on her I know she can bring back her previous body weight and built soon.

My friend is getting married in January, and guess what? It will be a beach wedding which will be held at the famous Boracay beach . I’m so happy for her, and she was super excited. I still remember when she first showed us her engagement ring design. She felt she was floating on cloud 9! Her fiance has provided everything and the preparations are going on smoothly. Even the house that they will live in after the wedding is already being constructed. I could see that her husband to be is a great man and a good provider. Anyway, I wish I could attend her wedding but just the thought about the expenses going to Boracay, I could only sigh…

My Dream Living Room

I love to have a house like this. It’s clean and warm and fresh and cozy. It’s indeed, a typical dream home :). It’s just hard to managed, lol! Having a house like this should be kept clean specially the carpet. And if you don’t have a nice vacuum cleaner, it would be very hard tidying up. You will need to get help from carpet cleaning raleigh specialists. But who cares right? If you have a house like this, it means you also have the money to pay for your cleaners, hehe. It was indeed a close fight for the crown. Although a lot of us are not satisfied with the result, let's be content and be proud. Shamcey did her best and she showed a true picture of a Filipina--beauty, brains, and a strong personal conviction. But what I like most about her is that she was firm with her faith. She showed that she is indeed a true believer of Christ. :) As what Venus Raj said, everything happens with a purpose. Even Shamcey is contented with what was given to her so let us all be proud for her, for being the 3rd runner up at the recently concluded Miss Universe pageant.

Swimming in the Cold Season Can Be Fun

My daughter loves swimming on pools and even if it’s rainy season here in our neck of the woods, it’s not a hindrance for her to hop in and swim. But I tell you, she easily gets cold and the nearby resort doesn’t have hot springs or heat pumps to warm the pool water. I hope they can check PoolSupplyUnlimited.com pool heat pumps so that it’s still enjoyable and fun even if it the weather is cold especially when swimming in rainy or Christmas seasons.I also don't like swimming in a cold pool so I am one of those who will truly enjoy swimming in warm water. Tadaaa! New Look!

After a very long time, I was finally able to change my blog's template and I'm thankful. It seems that I only needed some time and motivation. This time, the template is simpler. I only tweaked a little from the original and I love the results.

My previous template is not pleasant to the eye and it somehow left me not wanting to post a lot and visit a lot :). I think it's somehow annoying, lol!

The campaign for anti-smoking law in the metro was a good one. I think this will be hard in the beginning since a lot of smokers will surely retaliate when they will be apprehended but I think this is a good move. I just don’t know how long this will last. The anti-smoking campaign restricts people from smoking in public places so you don’t puff your perdomo cigars inside public buildings like hospital, schools, offices, even public utility vehicles. You will be fined of worst you will be locked in prison. It’s just frustrating when this law is being implemented but people are still uncooperative. But I’m praying that as time goes, people will start abiding to this law. After all, the main benefactor of this is still the public.

I am always fascinated whenever I watch a lifestyle program or talk shows that feature celebrity houses. Aside from reading topics about home styling in magazines, it's more interesting watching it on TV. And what I love about it is because I'm learning a lot so that when the time comes that we will have to build our own house, I'll have enough ideas.

One of the things I learned about home styling is good lighting. A good lighting in a house makes it more relaxing and welcoming. I've seen quite a number of houses that has good lighting fixtures and I found out, that's good trick for a warm house ambiance. From living room to the kitchen, a house should have good lighting even to the comfort rooms. Sparkling ceiling fan lights are great in a living room or in the dining area. And of course, a mom likes me who loves to stay in the kitchen would love it if it has good kitchen light fixtures. Lighting is an essential part of house planning so I I know that we have to really invest on good lighting when we start building our own home.

Sesame Chicken

Today was a fine day. I was able to make a bento snack for my little girl, as able to make california maki and chicken sesame for our lunch.. wow!

Anyway, the chicken sesame turned out to be wonderful and my little girl loved it so much.

The sweetness and sesame flavor and the crisp of the sesame seeds and the chicken itself made this dish a joy to my little girl. You can also try this at home. I only didn't have the spring onions or scallions available so I was not able to garnish it with that. But sans the scallions, it's still great.

Sesame Chicken

Ingredients for the marinade: Nixed the following and marinade chicken

2 tbsp sherry or cooking wine
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp chicken cube (powdered)
1/8 white pepper
1½ tsp sugar

Ingredients for the sauce: (mixed together)

1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup honey or karo syrup (I didn't have honey so I used a pancake syrup)
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp white vinegar
1 tbsp soy sauce

Batter/coating:
flour, 1 beaten egg, cornstarch.

Vegetable oil or peanut oil for frying, sesame seeds (toasted) and scallions for garnishing

Procedure:
Cut chicken breast fillet in bite size or about 1 inch. Mix the marinade ingredients and marinade chicken in about 1 hour. While waiting for the chicken, mix the sauce ingredients. Once chicken is ready, prepare the coating ingredients. heat the oil for frying. Dredge the chicken in flour, on the beaten egg, then on the cornstarch and fry until golden brown.

Once all the chicken are done, removed the oil and wipe your wok. Heat it again and pour in the sauce mixture. Once the sauce started to bubble, add in the chicken and stir until the chicken are coated. after about 1 minute, removed from wok and serve on a plate. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and scallions or leeks

This is just a simple and easy to prepare recipe. Try it.

I came across a store while looking for car accessories in a mall last week. It’s a store at which truck gps systems are being sold. I wonder if they can also install gps for my car, hehe. But seriously, a gps can be a big help for me since I am a new driver but I don’t think my car is one that can accommodate a modern machine like that. Well, I’ll just patiently wait until we are blessed with a new and modern family car. Until then, I’ll have to be loyal with Ms. Kia :)

My Custom Printing Business

When I decided to quit my job and stop working, I also have one thing in mind that I want to do. I want to put up my own business and I was thinking of putting up a shop that specializes on Custom Printing. I have been fond of designing invitations, and other personalize stuffs as gifts and souvenirs that's why I thought it will be a good start up business for me since I know I can handle it well. I love making stuff like Flyer Printing and Gift Card Printing and stuffs like that and since I believe that one will be successful if one will pursue what he is passionate about, I thought it as the perfect business. But as time passed, my dream business center is still in my dreams. Financial issue is what restricting me for that dream business to be realized. It's hard when you do not have yet the funds to support your passion, he he. So for the mean time, while we are still waiting for the funds to come, I am already preparing myself for that business. I am consulting a friend for a good marketing plan. I am also trying to get as much information as I can get to learn everything about custom printing. And I am thankful that my husband is supporting me on this. Though we are still on the stage of praying and planning, we are full of hopes that this printing shop will open soon.

Triple Celebration

After giving birth, my sister will be returning to her home and she is planning to hold her house warming same day as her son’s birthday and also welcoming the new addition to the family, her second son. It’s going to be a triple celebration. She’s asking me to help her plan since she isn’t fully recovered yet. But aside from helping her plan the event, I’m also thinking of what to give as housewarming gift for her and for the kids. I guess, I have to visit suki market at Dapitan to find a good gift.

They say that the pictures that are posted on your wall papers and computer monitors reflects who you are what or who you cared about. Do you agree? Hmmm… I guess so. When I was single and had my first computer on my first job, my wall papers usually are pictures of serene places, or cute animals, all things girly. But when I started to have my family, my wall papers are most often pictures of my family or my kids even though I only see it when I start or turn off my PC, LOL.

A Grabby Addiction

People with gambling addiction and do nothing about their situation will never be successful and will just go deeper until they're drowned. I have witnessed a lot first hand and the way I see it, gambling is a greedy addiction so you must not get into it. Because when you’re into it, it will be hard to get out. It will get you until you have nothing left. That’s why I don’t understand why people, who already know that they are addicted, and with nothing left anymore, still don’t want to stop. Or maybe they are not stopping until they get those that they lost, but truth is you cannot get even, you cannot win. So if you're in this situation, let go and find someone or an institution to help you get out.

Who Loves Popcorn?

Who wouldn't love popcorn, right? It's one of most loved snacks when watching a movie. This is also my kids' favorite food to munch on during lazy weekends while watching our favorite DVDs. When we can't buy popcorn, I'll just get the microwavable popcorn which is hassle free and not so time consuming, perfect for a late night movie at home.

Popcorn can be a good business opportunity. There are lots of ways to handle a pop corn business. It can be a seasonal business or your daily source of income. I had a friend who used to rent his uncle's popcorn machine during all saints day, that's October 31 to November 1 and he stationed this machine in a crowded cemetery. So, my friend saw this as the perfect opportunity for his pop corn. He said in those two days he earns twice his capital, so for him it's his best seasonal business. And he does this every year. Imagine the profit for two days? He actually gave me an idea so I have been considering this opportunity. Only, I don't know where to rent a popcorn machine. It Started With A Bang!

This week started not so good for me mainly because of the accident my brother in law caused. My BIL borrowed my car so he can practice driving. He's a new driver and I really don't trust him that much that he can handle the car very well but because his somehow a relative and I am concern about him (about the job that's being offered to him), and I really wanted to help so I gave in. But as expected, it did not ended good to me, my car and my neighborhood.

Why? Because he accidentally bumped into the subdivision's water pipelines and broke three home water system and meters. And of course it caused great damaged to my car. Upon seeing the car's state I get really mad. I was angry and I cried over the car. I didn't even want to talk to him. I know it's an accident and I shouldn't be so mad at him because I'm also at fault allowing him to drive in the first place. But of course, getting mad would be everyone's reaction during that time. But after a while, after understanding the incident, i was able to compose my self, and forgive him. After all, he took the responsibility and needed action to fix the damages he caused.

Still, I'm thankful because first, it was not so serious, and seconds, it was being resolved. The incident taught me a lot of lessons.

One of the wishes of every mom to be is that her child is healthy and will come out normal, complete and without defects. In ancient time, a child born with defects is a not a good sign. People believed that either the child or the parents have been cursed. I have even read somewhere that if the child was born with defect he will be immediately be put to death, a really very sad story. But thank God that now, with the help of our advance technology, expecting moms were being assured about her child physical appearance. I miss the perks and benefits of a private employee. Now that I’m a stay at home mom, I sometimes miss some employee benefits that I don’t enjoy now like health cards, midyear bonuses and even accident or sickness benefits. Being a private employee has it’s perks because the company is getting something from you so when you meet work related injuries the company is responsible for you. I’m currently reading a book about our national hero, Dr. José Rizal. It’s called the First Filipino and the stories that were being told in the book are really surprising. Most of the facts have not been taught in school. I’ve learned new things about Rizal that were really interesting. We’ve known him as being the first eye surgeon in the country, having operated his mom from her cataract. Don’t you know that aside from this, there were even more facts that has been kept hidden from us? The truth behind his points of view regarding the “himagsikan”, the stories behind his travels, his family, the truth about his faith, and more. I think this book should be the new reference book in our school whether high school or college in studying about Rizal’s works and biography. Students will learn a lot and not just know him as the one being printed the face of a one peso coin.

Expecting!

Oh, no no no...Not me! It's my friend. I saw her baby shower photos which was held last Sunday. She looks so happy and pretty despite her big tummy. I’m so happy for her. They have been wed for I think more than 3 years already and at first she was so worried they won’t have a baby. They almost consulted an infertility doctor in their eagerness to have a baby. I told my friend that babies are gifts from God and they just have to wait for it to come. And true enough, after almost four years of waiting, here they are a picture of a happy and expecting parent to be. Photos of their baby shower shows how happy and excited they are, just like when we are first expecting. I can feel how excited they are. Babies really bring joy and that’s what it brought my friend and her husband. I wish her a normal and safe delivery.

Trying to Get Insurance..Again

I’m thinking if it’s better to buy term life insurance or the regular plan that my friend is offering me. Until now we haven’t got our family insurance yet because first, it was set aside because of budget issues and second, we don’t know what to get. My friend wanted to meet me to discus about the offer (the one that she has been proposing to us since my daughter was two). I really wanted to get our family insurance so I’m hoping to get one this year. This is one of the securities we can get for our family so I know how important it is.

This Sunday starts the Philippine’s version of The Biggest Loser. A reality show where they will feature 10 big (huge) participants who will compete to be the biggest weight loser by the end of the show. It’s quite interesting. They will be going through a lot of challenging activities that will help them win the competition and achieve their goals without taking supplements like lipozene. Each contestant of course has his own story. I just hope that they will be able to lose weight because I’ve seen the contestants and they are really HUGE! So to know who will win, I guess I’ll watch this program.

My Pores

I was browsing my shots from my DSLR camera and it really does show everything. Even my pores can be seen, haha! I realized, I haven’t been taking care of my skin lately. Well, I don’t get pimples and acne so serious that I need to treat it with accutane. I’m one lucky girl who doesn’t get pimple, except when my period comes. My only problem now is my pores. My friend is suggesting diamond peel but as of the moment, I don’t have the budget to splurge on such vanities yet. So until that day comes (when I have the budget) I will just have to be content washing my face with my favorite facial cleanser.

Those Wants

Now that I’m not working in the corporate world, I sometimes miss getting paychecks every 15th and 30th of the month. Sometimes, I feel bad about it especially if I wanted to buy something I really want that’s not in my budget. Now that my husband is the only one earning and I have to wait until the end of the month for his salary, there are times that I wish I have a job that will give me fixed salary so even if it still days before payday, I can buy my wants using payday advances. But reality is, it’s different now. Instead of thinking about buying those wants I shake them off. I wait till my blogging earnings come and see if I can splurge a little bit for myself. If not, then I will just forget about it.

Do you have the new paper bills on your wallets? I believe the new paper bills aren’t fully circulating yet but some people already have some of these bills. I for one already had the 20, 50, 100, and 1000 bills on my wallet. And I’m keeping it there even when there are times they’re the only cash left inside. I don’t want to spend it yet since I wanted to keep them as mementos. Maybe If I also had some American silver eagles, I’ll do the same. I just love the design of the new money so I wanted to treasure them. So I’m keeping them inside my wallet..for how long? I don’t know....haha!

As I’ve mentioned on my other blog, I started driving this morning, alone. I’m happy that I was able to drive to and from our church and back to our house safe. I’m a new driver so I still had to deal with a lot of butterflies in my stomach but I’m hoping I will be able to overcome this nervousness as I drive. My husband is my encourager. He will always check on me and coach me even online. He was so happy of my development, hehe. He said that I just have to stay focused, have the presence of mind, and the confidence. He also reminds me to always bring copy of our car paper’s and my license. And since I am just driving a car for now, I don’t have to worry about 5th wheel insurance. For the moment, I need to drive (safely) always, and continue driving to enhance my skill. Yeah…I’m happy for my self.

My sister’s sister in law is taking up medicine as her second course. It’s her in-laws’ dream to have a doctor in the family that’s they are doing everything to fulfill that dream even if tuition fees of doctors are as high as mountains now. Our Handyman

My kids love watching Handy Manny and I also watch with them. And to tell you the truth, I enjoy watching this animated series. It’s sometimes so surreal that Manny and his tools can fix anything and everything but hey, this is just cartoons and cartoons are made for kids. So my kids also believed that Manny is the only person who can fix everything. Maybe if their dad is here they will think otherwise, ha ha! Their dad is not a handy man. He’s a nurse and a pastor but he turns to be my handyman when needed. I remember the time when we first transferred to our house. There are lots of things to be repaired and some of the things, he fixed by himself. We had wood fences like those of Richmond wood fences and he’s the only one who installed it. And I know that if the fences needs repairs, if he’s here we won’t need professional Richmond fence repairs. I know I can trust my husband’s handy man skills. I am amazed of how guys when they become husbands and dads, they can turn to be someone wives can turn to for home repairs. Isn’t that great?

We had our Young Adults fellowship last Saturday and one of our members brought his Sony Digital camera with Caméscopes. I also brought my DSLR with me. Ever since we started this group we had photo sessions during the meeting. It was started by one of our members who had been so good in photography but when he left we thought of continuing the tradition. We wanted every moment captured and when we’re done we would upload the pictures in face book and would have fun commenting at them. Our young adults team fellowship is one of my favorite group activities every month.

When I was preparing for my son’s first birthday party last February, my friends would always ask me if I didn’t sleep well because they are noticing my eye bags getting bigger and darker. During those times, I really don’t get enough sleep because I was doing a lot of preparations and the excitement keeps me from sleeping early during the night. I was also getting worried about my eye bags so after the event I’ve searched for the best way on how to get rid of dark circles under my eyes. Family Travel Soon

When Cebu Pacific held a contest last month for a free airfare ticket to Hong Kong, I almost joined. Questions are easy and since my internet is quite fast, I was sure my answer could reach them first. But then I realized, the ticket was good for one person only so I still need to get three tickets for my two kids and their nanny if ever I win one. And I also realized, I don’t want to travel without my husband....Sad. So I just watched as contestants raced to win. At the end of the contest, I honestly had regrets that I didn’t get any free tickets...sigh.

Anyway, I still have this dream that someday my family can travel leisurely either around the country or abroad. We haven’t gotten any chance of getting into private tours let alone the chance to travel as far as Cebu or Davao City together, what a pity.. . haha! When my husband was returning home last 2009 one of our plan is that he will stop at Hong Kong and we will just meet him there so we can have a family reunion. I was about to book us tickets when my husband suddenly changed the plan. It was really frustrating but I saw the reason why.

So until this day, my dream to have an out of the country vacation remains in my dream. But I believe that dreams do come true. I firmly believe that we can have that long awaited family travel soon.

Finance management is something that seems to be a complicated topic for some people. Especially those who are financially challenge. Managing our finances can be challenging because this is one of the major problem of people, money. Did you know that among the top new year’s resolution, one is to "Get out of debt"? Two New Skills

I had a very productive morning yesterday. With the help of my two friends I practiced driving once again. It's because I haven't really drive a car after I enrolled in a driving school last 2008 and so I forgot all that I studied. And my friends are so good to help me get a refresher course. I wouldn't say I did well on my first day because I felt rattled, confused, and a little nervous being behind the wheel once again after 3 years. But my teachers said I'm not that slow learner, lol! I just needed more practice. and I'm really praying that a few days or weeks, I'll become a skilled and confident driver.

After my driving lesson, I played badminton with them. It was fun and a great exercise for me. I think it's going to be my weekly routine from now on. I want to be a good badminton player as well.

I'm so happy I'm learning two new skills, and although I'm a late bloomer I'm still proud of myself... LOL!

My brother in law recently went to Riyadh to work. And since he doesn’t have yet the hospital’s uniforms he brought with him all his nursing scrubs. And when he arrived at the hospital, he was asked by the person in charge of the staff’s uniform where did he buy his scrub suits. The person seems to be looking for a place or a contractor where he can get cheap scrubs for all the staff. The hospital is new. If only we were there, my father can apply as contractor, hehe.

Dream Home

Every family dreams to live in the comfort of their own home that is furnished and fully paid, right? I know that every one of us have our own dream house. And we want to have them at the right time. Like every one, I also have my own dream home, we almost have it but circumstances came that we end up still renting. And the house that we currently staying is not what I really wanted. It was not properly maintained by the owner so there are a lot of renovations to be done that have not been given attention. If only we can acquire this to be our own house, we will surely make this a place that is comfortable to live in like what I seen in an Atlanta home remodeling site I’ve seen. I personally don’t like the kitchen since it doesn’t have cabinets and cupboards. The laundry area is still a problem. If only we have extra budget, we can have a bathroom and kitchen remodeling done since we can reimburse the expenses. But as of this moment, we still can’t do that because we have a lot of things that are first in our priority list. This house is situated in a good community. I personally like the environment because it’s peaceful. We are praying that if the Lord will, we can acquire this house instead of getting a place in far places where most realty development company put up residential properties. We’re praying that someday the owner will think of selling this to us through HDMF. It would be the best! Then, we can make this our dream home.

Dental Care for Kids

Having a beautiful smile needs beautiful sets of teeth right? I must agree I don’t have the most white and beautiful teeth since when I was young we have not given proper dental care, given the fact that it’s quite expensive that my parents (having 5 kids) did not afford it. But now that I have my own kids I realized the value of having proper dental care for them. I have two kids who already have their baby teeth. I have to say that I failed to take care of my eldest’s teeth so they eroded quickly even before she reached the age of five. I have consulted three children’s dentists already and they told me based on my daughter’s history that the early erosion might be caused my some medicines’ that she took when she was a baby. (She was diagnosed with neonatal seizure before). My little boy on the other hand is starting to have his milk teeth. His incisors have erupted already and so I am more cautious now as to the vitamins that he takes. Some kid’s dentists said that iron can be one of the causes of early corrosion on children’s teeth. I am not sure though if that is true but I’m still taking the precaution. I am now on the hunt for the best dentist for my kids and I am also considering Medicaid Dentists for their dental care. I know that it can be costly and expensive but this is one thing parents should consider for their kids to have confident smiles when they grow up.

Fresh Air

I visited my sister in her new house last week. The house was nice and it was situated in a good community with lots of trees. The atmosphere is really relaxing. I’m thinking of purchasing also a house in that area because of the beautiful surrounding with clean, cool and fresh air. The only problem is that it’s quite far from the city. Families who would want to live here should own a car for accessibility. But for me, this is a good place to raise a family. Living the city with air pollution can be hard for the kids especially on health issues. I know of some friends who even have to buy Rabbit Air purifiers to have clean air. So we as well endure the long drive than risking our health right?

I’m going to the check a shop that’s going to have its annual sale by the end of this month. I’m trying to be our home’s handyman (err..woman) so I’ll see if I could find the materials I need at discounted prices. I need some new lights, tools like pliers and cutter and I’ll also check (if our lardlord allowed) for a new set of AC and a honda generator as well. I can’t bear to see my kids suffering from the heat of the season. As much as possible, I want them to sleep comfortably in an air-conditioned room. I hope I can find the best bargain. When I was working I seldom check the state of our kitchen and everything in it. It’s because I lack time. Now, I could see all the things that need to be replaced, repair, replenish and etc. I noticed I have a lot of utensils that are unused and just getting dusty. Some of my kitchen appliance are just stock in the cabinet and remained unused since we bought them, like my le creuset braiser. I also notice that I have so much plate in our “platera” but are not being used every day. They are only getting so much space. Next week, I’m planning to reorganized my kitchen, give out those plate that I don’t used and maybe I’ll go visit Dapitan Arcade for a new set of decoration for the kitchen.

My sister is pregnant to her second baby and as early as now, I’m thinking of what baby gifts I could give her. She’s been so good to me when I was pregnant with my little boy so I want to give the generosity back. She’s also relying on me once she’s schedule to give birth to drive her to the hospital since I have the car. I only hope that I could have mustered all the courage and skills I need before that time comes so I can drive her safely to the hospital. Anyway, she’s due on July so I still have a lot of time to think about the gifts and practice my driving skills.

I had a friend whose sister is into bead accessories. He even offered me some of his sister’s products which I found really nice but yes, expensive. He said that the beads are imported that’s why the price is higher than usual beads. I haven’t places an order yet since I’m torn whether I’ll buy one from his sister or from Reeds. I saw this particular chamilia bracelet in their site and I feel in love with it! Bracelets like this one can be customized according to your liking since it's a DIY bracelet. Only that, it’s much, much pricey. Oh well, I think I wait till I have the money to splurge on accessories.

Expressing Her Opinions

My daughter is really growing up without me noticing it. She is now very vocal with her opinions and anything that she wanted to say. We were in a mall last month to buy the little girl her graduation dress. There was a time when we went to the comfort room because the little girl wanted to pee. And because the mall’s comfort room is nice, my daughter enjoyed it there. She went to the sink, wash her hands, used the liquid hand soap, and dried her hands with the hand dryers on the wall, and then she exclaimed, “I wish that we also had hand dryers in our bathroom, mom. I think it would be great to have one at home, right?” I was like stunned, but only answered that “yes, it would be great but we can’t just yet.” And then went the never ending whys. :)

Parish on Thrift Rack?

I was in a thrift shop the other day to do my usual hunt for unique items when I saw a piece of parish clothing on the rack. I almost bought that one but decided not since I don’t have someone to wear it. Hubby will definitely not wear it because it’s not his fashion style. It really amazes me when I find branded clothes on the thrifts shops’ racks most of the time. You can never tell when you’ll get good buys so I just love going to thrifts shops and hunt, hunt, hunt!

I see myself blessed to have skin that is not prone to pimples. I often get compliments and that flatters me a lot. Some people would even ask me how I get rid of pimples because I rarely have one. Well, as I’ve said I’m not prone to this skin problem. But to those who ask, I only advise them to eat healthy food, avoid being an all-nighter and avoid using skin products that doesn’t compliment your skin. These are just simple ways to avoid having those zits. Remember that taking care of your skin is as important as your diet and fitness.

A Car and The Courage to Drive It.

This is our new car which we bought from my brother in law. He left to work in the middle east so he decided to sell this to my husband. This is what makes me busy these days. I need to have a refresher course in driving so that I will be able to drive this car while my husband is still in Riyadh. For now, I’m still fixing all the necessary documents for the transfer of ownership because my brother in law was not able to do it before he left. I am also currently reading estatecarinsure.com blog to learn things regarding car insurance and other stuff. I am hoping that I will have all the courage I can get to start driving this by myself by next month.

My life has changed since I decided to quit my job and stay at home. First because now, I am not forcing myself to wake up early and go through the day’s traffic stress. And I can go online and do my online work not anymore feeling guilty that I am robbing time from my employer. I am also enjoying my time with my kids because now, I can be there for them all the time and anytime they need me. Sometimes, whenever check my emails and see some jobstreet offers of customer service jobs, I get to think of returning to my career and work again because honestly, I also miss working. But whenever my little boy enters my room while I’m facing my pc, hug my legs and lay his head on my lap, everything that’s on my mind changes. I’m quite meticulous when it comes to home furniture. I don’t want rustic furniture so I always check our iron furniture like bed frames and dinner chairs often. As much as I want to, I like wooden furniture because it looks classic and fresh but when we experienced flood last 2009, most of our wooden furniture got soaked and ruined by the flood so we thought that iron made furniture are better of us. Now we only need to check them often so that it doesn’t have tarnish of rust.

My little boy celebrated his first birthday last Saturday. As expected, he received a number of gifts. There are also some gifts for baby girl and I thought the sender was mistaken, but I was surprised when I read the gifts tags that they are for the little princess, my daughter. How generous of them to give gifts to my little girl as well. Anyway, the preparation I did was tiring but I’m glad that the celebration was fun and the guests had a great time. Now that my little boy is already becoming more and more mobile, I make sure that the house is always clean and free of clutter. I also make sure that he won’t be able to pick up anything that might choke him or would put him in danger. I was alarmed because one time I saw him chewing something and when I told him to spit it out, I found a piece of pearl bead. Good thing that he obeys me whenever I saw him chewing something and tell him to “spit it out”, he understands me. But I won’t wait till he chew something like diet pills so I am more cautious now.

I’m loving my hubby’s Christmas present which arrived last week. It was a Canon EOS Rebel camera. I almost leaped for joy when I finally held it for real. I’m a photographer wannabe so it was really one of my wishes to own a SLR and now I finally have it. One of my wishes finally came true! Thanks to my dearest and ever so loving husband, hehe. Now, shooting chandeliers, flowers, food or anything I want, could be done artistically (well, hopefully, LOL!) with the help of my SLR. Yey!

Overwhelmed

Well, personally I don't do resolutions.Most people do this and sometimes gets frustrated when they noticed that at the end of the year, most of their resolutions were not met. So I don't make resolutions. I want to set up goals that I know are achievable. This year, I will hold on to this verse:

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past." Isiah 43:18

The year 2010 was now but just a past. So I will just take the things that I've learned and forget everything. There are so many blessing and disappointments but the Lord has been very good. Why? Because...

One, He gave us our little prince...He provided for my hospital bills during my giving birth...He used people to blessed us...and He took careof me when I was being operated...

Two, after a year of being jobless, my husband finally got his job order from his former employer and returned to his job on June 2010.

Three, after years of desiring to become a full-time mom, I made the radical decision and bravely embraced the challenge November 2010 with the Lord's assurance that everything will be alright and will be taken cared of.

and Four, after searching and searching for the best helper, He gave us the right person on November 2010.

God has been very good! I know that as I lay my goals before Him, He will be there to help me fulfill it. So this year, these are my goals:

1. Have more time with the kids. talk and Bond with them, play with them, read books to them and just be there for them when they need me.
2. Finished the books I left unfinished and read more books
3. Save more and spend less.
4. Save..Save..Save!
5. Never to use credit cards and pay them all.
6. Read my Bible everyday (even online)
7. Fully surrender everything to God.
